Auckland - a major centre in the Asia-Pacific region, is the best place to take advantage of New Zealand's offer. A quarter of the world's Fortune 500 companies and two thirds of the country's top 200 companies are located here.
Auckland has the physical and electronic infrastructure to move goods, services and people. Air and sea ports provide rapid connections to the world and utility services and telecommunications are of the highest standards and are cost competitive.
Cultural diversity is one of Auckland's most notable features, with a multilingual workforce facilitating access to global markets. A highly skilled labour force is also fuelled by Auckland's education system which is world-class both at primary (elementary), secondary (High School) and Tertiary (College) level. Wages and salaries for skilled talent are typically 50 per cent less in Auckland than in the USA and 20-30 lower than Australia.
Political and environmental stability couple with positive mid and long term forecasts make Auckland a good investment prospect.

Ann Sherry - Former CEO, Westpac
"Auckland is a very interesting region to look at for a number of reasons. One is that it is very diverse culturally. There would be few cities in the world that would have the ethnic and business diversity that Auckland has. Secondly Auckland is a very good size market - by global standards it's small, but again because of it's diversity and breadth - you can really take a slice of what would otherwise be a very big market and work that through Auckland. And thirdly, it's quite a sophisicated market. Again, size hides the degree of sophistication that this market has to offer. There is more here than meets the eye."
